Getting started
Book Bridge checks your reading list against your local Libby / OverDrive libraries so you can see which books are available to borrow or place on hold. Here's the basic flow:
- Sign in and create your account.
- Add the Libby libraries you belong to.
- Connect your Goodreads account or import a reading list.
- Book Bridge scans your list and shows real-time availability at your libraries: one library and your 3 newest books on the free plan, every library and your whole list with Book Bridge Pro.
Common issues
- My library isn't showing up. Search for your library by name when adding it. If it still doesn't appear, the library may not be part of the Libby / OverDrive network.
- A book isn't showing availability. The title may not be in your library's OverDrive catalog. On the free plan, availability shows for your 3 newest books only, and the rest of the list needs Book Bridge Pro.
- Goodreads sync isn't working. Make sure you've granted Book Bridge access to your Goodreads account. You can disconnect and reconnect from the settings screen.
- I'm seeing stale results. Pull down on the list to check availability again. Every check is fresh.
- I can't sign in. Try signing out completely and back in. If the problem persists, email us at the address below.
Book Bridge Pro and subscriptions
- What's free? Book Bridge is free with one library, and it checks availability for the 3 newest books on your Want to Read list. Book Bridge Pro checks every library you use and your whole list. Pro is an annual subscription with a 7-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime.
- I used Book Bridge before Pro. Do I pay, and am I charged when the year ends? No. If you had a Book Bridge account before Pro launched, your first year of Pro is on us, with nothing to set up. It isn't a subscription, so nothing is charged when it ends: your account goes back to the free plan unless you choose to subscribe. Deleting your account ends the free year, and it does not come back if you sign up again.
- How do I cancel? In the store you subscribed through, not in Book Bridge. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or your Book Bridge account does not cancel it.
- I deleted my account and signed up again. Where is Pro? Your subscription belongs to your Apple ID or Google account, so it is still active. Sign in to your new account on a device using the same Apple ID or Google account, then tap Restore purchases in Settings, and Pro moves to the new account. A complimentary period of Pro given to existing users stays with the deleted account and cannot be moved.
- Pro disappeared from one of my accounts. A subscription unlocks one Book Bridge account at a time. If you restored purchases or subscribed while signed in to another Book Bridge account with the same Apple ID or Google account, Pro moved to that account. To move it back, sign in to the account you want and tap Restore purchases in Settings. That moves it away from the other account, because two accounts cannot share one subscription.
- Restore purchases says there is nothing to restore. Check that the device is signed in to the Apple ID or Google account that bought the subscription, and that the subscription is still active in that store.
- How do I get a refund? Payments go through Apple or Google, so refunds do too. For the App Store, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, follow Google's refund instructions.
